YAMAHA FG-440 - Vintage Acoustic Guitar

Yamaha GuitarsThis Yamaha is from the desired FG series. FG Series is a legend when it comes to value-priced, high-performing acoustics. This FG 400 is very limited edition Vintage Yamaha, at a great price.

The production is from 72-74, made with a solid spruce top, Jacaranda back and sides, African Mahogany neck, and striped Ebony neck and bridge.

- FG in the name stands for "folk guitar," and while these are instruments optimized for folk music, FG series guitars are very versitile, and sound great playing almost any genre of music.

Sound Quality

Typical yamaha, rich mellow woody tones from solid construction with loads of bass. Extremely loud guitar - equal to many high-cost acoustics. Suits most tastes in folk, country, and traditional music - sounds great strummed or flat picked.

Reliability/Durability

Seriously solid guitar, suffered small dings over time but finish is very durable - will last for ever ! Extremely dependable.

You'll love the tone and solid wood richness which booms out of the 440.  Easy to spend seriously big bucks to equal the sound from this Yamaha and even then it's a matter of taste.

--

Built-in the time when things were done by hand - the Yamaha FG-440, increasingly hard to find. No visible damage to speak of - a few bumps and bruises only.
The neck is straight, frets are not worn (At 85% - 90), the fret markers are a dot  design, the fretboard has the edges fully trimmed

The body of the guitar has a few marks as any normally played vintage guitar would have, minor dings, and headstock ding which can all be seen in photos.  Nothing though that detracts from its wonderful tone. This guitar has mellowed with time and has a gorgeous aged wood color now.  This guitar was kept in correct storage, and care during its life.
Great vintage guitar to add to your collection.
