Really gorgeous expert-built Japanese Vintage Folk Acoustic by Kasuga.

Have a look at the pics for all the special detail put into this build.
Neck straight, tuners hold great, and couple cosmetics (scratches seen in pics), Nothing to hamper sound produced from the over 50 years aged wood on this guitar.

Made in the heyday of collectable Japanese instruments at Kasuga Gakki . They were one of the big 3 guitar factories in Japan and in fact were one of the first established in 1935 in Nagoya by Kazuyuki Kasuga during the 1960’s & 70’s they shipped guitars under their own brand and made for other brands.  By the 1980’s they were completely an OEM brand manufacturer making instruments for ESP, Burny, SAGA and Yamaha among others.

These don’t come up for sale very often and as such it’s difficult to find information on them.  This one is priced low due to the cosmetics only.

About Kasuga:

Kasuga was one of a small handful of Japanese guitar manufacturers that built guitars in their own facility (Kasuga Gakki).

Kasuga got established in Nagoya, Japan, in the late ’60s.
In ’67, Tommy Moore, the successful musical instrument merchandiser from Ft. Worth, Texas, visited Japan in order to strike up a guitar making deal. With only a voucher of credit in his pocket and no contacts, Moore hooked up with a Mr. Kaku, who steered him to Tokai Gakki.

Tokai quickly found it couldn’t keep up with demand, so it found a factory that could meet its quality standards: Kasuga
Kasuga kept up its highest standards of quality and are a sought after and rare to find guitar.
