D-80 is within the ranks of the AD series of acoustic dreadnought guitars made by Aria. These models offer quality construction and strong tone, which they owe largely to their size. As one of the biggest among the standard acoustic guitar shapes, dreadnought is also among the loudest. This particular dread is the intermediate model of the series and it comes with a non-cutaway body made of rosewood back and sides with spruce soundboard on top.  Rosewood is also used for the belly-shaped bridge and 20-fret fingerboard. Natural colored, this dread is finished in high gloss.

Top panel also features multi-ply binding, Black pickguard and vintage rosette.

Neck is made of mahogany and it is attached to the body with a dovetail joint set at the standard 14th fret.
